Weinrich’s

Founded in 1895, in Herford, Germany by Ludwig Weinrich, Weinrich’s Schokolade is a fourth-generation, family-owned chocolate company with a legacy rooted in tradition, quality and craftsmanship. What began as a small confectionery business has grown into one of Germany’s leading premium chocolate producers, combining over a century of chocolate-making expertise with a strong commitment to ethical and sustainable practices.

Weinrich’s is built on three core principles: tradition, aspiration and responsibility. Their goal has always been to balance timeless, high-quality recipes with an ever-changing world. Weinrich’s was the first company in Germany to use Fairtrade-certified cocoa, setting a new standard for responsible sourcing. Today, they continue to prioritize using Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa, along with organic ingredients. Additionally, the company focuses heavily on using eco-friendly packaging and runs a modern, state-of-the-art factory.

Their wide range of products includes classic solid bars in dark, milk, and white chocolate, with and without flavorful inclusions. A standout in Weinrich’s assortment are their filled chocolate bars, such as the peppermint filled bar. They also specialize in liquor-filled truffle chocolates made with whisky, rum, champagne and more — all crafted without artificial flavors, for a more authentic taste.

Weinrich’s stays true to its roots while continuing to grow and adapt. Their approach blends tradition with innovation, while always keeping the planet and people in mind. As CEO Cord Budde puts it, “Our mission is the production of finest chocolate in harmony with human life and our environment.” This commitment is reflected in every bar, blending quality ingredients, expertise, and ethical sourcing to create a delicious treat you can feel good about.
